Derek Reid is a multi-faceted broadcaster who holds a BA in Mass Communications from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He is involved in every aspect of broadcasting from on-air talent to editing and production. Starting at Keystone Broadcasting in 2011as a board operator, Derek has since held various positions across several departments. Aside from being an on-air drive time host for Mix 96.1, he was also in charge of News reports for Mix as well as KICM, which allowed him to cover President Barack Obama when the President visited Durant, Oklahoma. During his off time, he helped create a homegrown music scene in his native McCurtain County which was intended to honor and recognize area artists with The McCurtain County Music Awards which took place annually for 5 years until the music scene closed due to the pandemic. He currently hosts and curates Third League Radio, the Rock and Wrestling radio show that airs on Mix 96.1 and KZIG 107.5. He also works with the Southeastern Sports Network broadcasting Southeastern Oklahoma State University Athletics. His work includes creating graphics such as digital scoreboards, editing videos like commercials, and pre-game packages that are used in the broadcast as well as creating the weekly football highlight videos, and even running a camera on the sidelines during homes games when needed. Derek was also the play-by-play voice for Coalgate High Schools Football and Basketball teams from 2013 to 2019, as well being the voice of the Bryan County Conference basketball tournament since 2018. When he isn’t broadcasting sports or watching wrestling, he enjoys playing guitar and writing songs that he sings to his loving dog Rosey
